No, it's not about my alma mater, Stephen F. Austin High School in Austin, Texas, Loyal Forever, thank you. Friends know that Dazed and Confused really reminded me of the days of the real Austin High, back in the summer of '79.
This Austin High is called Lady Bird High School, whose mascot is the Big Black 'Dillos. Principal Wilson leads the slacker faculty who like to get together for a Code Green. But when the new law and order assistant principal Dr. Lambert, Ph. D. arrives to shake up the place, it causes a crisis of confidence among not only the faculty but the students. The subplot involves a citywide effort to stamp out marijuana, led my Mr. Gennocide (Genno - chide-a!) which helps unite the city and and the school.
Indie production looking but there was some studio talent behind it. Dog the Bounty Hunter makes a nice cameo.
